after his outstanding album debut christian naujoks is back withthe first of a 12 inch trilogy to be released on dial records. adoring the sound of pitched down pre-recorded strings dressed in deep, dub-styled echoes, east end boys is a song dedicated to to the raw and powerful sublimity of physical sounds. the song was created while naujoks was working on a live set for the akustic saloon at legendary berlin based berghain club in april 2009. overwhelmed by his flatmates live performance, lawrence decided to produce a remix of his favorite christian naujoks tune >bloom<, which appears on the flipside.

lets give kitkaliitto a warm welcome! instantly impressed by these guys music we were – quite unique and not easy to classify. so this is their debut ep – coming straight from helsinki with love, three tracks and a remix. you can hear influences and samples from deep movie scores, downtempo, house, even big beat always escorted by some factor for self destruction. the remix of moravia by sevensol & bender shoves a rough house skeleton under tom pavlas fantastic trumpet – simple, raw and beautiful.

a temporary sabbatical from gigs was taken and the band wrote material for where were you when it happened in new orleans midtown district, where their rawboned compositions resembled the katrina-pummeled surroundings. with their girlfriends with them in as close to a stableenvironment as they d been in months, they were able to tap a darker, more personal side in songs like as noise, and hunt you down, with its mournful, organ drenched air belying monotonixs typical good time charlie posturing, while fulfilling the albums need for a climactic, balladic moment. where were you when it happened? finds monotonix visiting a greater diversity of places within their sound while still retaining their minimal appeal. mostly though, where were you when it happened works up a sweat with raw rock and roll, acid guitar licks and riffs, screaming choruses and, in general, the wildness of monotonix in a way that makes for repeated album listening (and pummelling). where most bands refine their production sound as they go forward, monotonix have reverse refined themselves, playing dirtier and more energetic to capture the lightning they are known for.

the new series for raw no-nonsens techno and house tracks. some straight up techno... some edgy, exciting and fresh, sometimes just plain functional dj tools. first one is mike dehnert with his solid umlaut track that was overlooked by many when it was released on his own fachwerk imprint. mike is one of the big talents with his own trademark sound.. something we don t hear to often! 3 unreleased verions of umlaut2... mikes first unreleased mix, slightly housier then the first one, the umlaut2 new version which is a straigth up club tool. big surprise here is the remix by levon vincent! a new talent from new york that got his name on the map after 3 incredible releases on his own novel sounds and deconstruct labels. he did a more then excellent job with his dirty and housier version. levon did lay down a crazy groove with an old fashioned hook line (very n.y. house) and mold it into a fierce techno track. fresh and completely different then most techno out there these days.

dave huismans aka 2562 with his a made up sound project. archive contains four raw house tracks from the vaults with their roots in detroit and chicago house. æbounceÆ and ædisconnectÆ combine the best of two worlds: the more traditional sample based house grooves and the spacious sounds and wrenching sub bass that have become his trademark. the same goes for the other two tracks... æwireÆ is a phat acid track with a great drive. a strange atmosphere and a unique combination of classic structures with new and old sounds. this track will make sure that the sweat is dripping off those basement walls! æon&onÆ has that catchy drunken beat slightly reminding of some theo parrish productions... finished with futuristic technoid synth stabs and pulsating acid-ish bass sounds that make this a great abstract & stripped-down house work out! killer!
